WSFS By-Law changes: overview
At the recent Annual Meeting held at CSU Northridge, April, 2004, the California Folklore Society's Board of Directors unanimously passed a resolution calling for amendments to the CFS By-Laws. Two categories of amendments were called for: (1) change of the Society's name to Western States Folklore Society, together with administrative changes reflecting the expanded scope and consequent organizational restructuring; and (2) other administrative changes.
In accordance with the By-Laws, votes in favor or rejection of the amendments were to be submitted by surface mail before a deadline established by the Board of Directors. Only votes submitted by current voting members of the California Folklore Society and postmarked by July 31, 2004 were considered valid. The ballots submitted by voting members approved all amendments.
